This TWO DAY school, sponsored by BP Chemicals, offers both the lecture and the field certification. On the FIRST DAY the lecture begins at 8:00 am and concludes by noon. The field runs begin at 1:00 pm. On the SECOND DAY the field runs begin at 8:00 am. The school will be considered CLOSED when all the employees who were present at 8:00 am have passed. Those who are field certifying only are encouraged to test on the SECOND day; however, if there are shift or scheduling problems, feel free to test on the FIRST day.
DIRECTIONS: BP Chemicals is located at 1401 Finley Island Rd. in Decatur. BP is located near the junction of Highway 72 and Highway 67. From Highway 72 (1.2 miles west of intersection with Highway 67), turn north on Finley Island Rd. Go 1 mile. BP is on the left. Park in the lot to the right of the administration building or the lot in front of it (when facing the building.) For the lecture go to the front entrance of the administration building. Someone will meet you in the lobby. The field runs are held in the main parking lot.

GENERAL INFORMATION
ARRIVAL
Arrive 20 - 30 minutes early for registration.
STATE LECTURE REQUIREMENTS
Lectures in most states are approximately two (2) hours in length.
The State of Texas requires a six (6) hour lecture, and the State of Idaho requires an eight (8) hour lecture.
FIELD CERTIFICATION
The field certification takes place outdoors and takes place whether rain or shine. As long as the visibility is greater than three (3) miles, and there is no lightning, the field runs continue. Poor visibility and lightning usually pass within an hour or two, and the field runs can resume.
WHAT TO WEAR
Dress appropriately for outdoors for an extended period of time. In winter use multiple layers, insulated coveralls and perhaps even a coat on top. In summer, bring a hat or cap for shade.
EYEGLASSES AND SUNGLASSES
Good long-distance vision is required for field certification. Students are advised to remember that whatever eyeglasses or sunglasses (prescription or nonprescription) you wear during the certification test are REQUIRED every time you actually do VE readings.
OTHER THINGS TO BRING
Office supplies: clipboard, note paper, pen (not pencil)
Rain gear: umbrella, raincoat, visor.
Comfort supplies: lawn or camping chair, hat, snack, bottled water, sunscreen.
